It is a raining day.

There is a period of time whereby I really dislike rainy days as you had to stay at home and lots of outdoor activities will have to be postponed, whereas during sunny days, lots of activities can be done as usual.

Maybe I am someone how dislike to bring along an umbrella though it is raining, thus unless it is heavy rain, or else bringing an umbrella is not my style.

Life is like a human race. Having a aim in life keep us moving towards the goals we set in life. That why, though running a marathon is not an easy task, I had signed up for the Standard Chartered Marathon 2008. With the experience I had last year, before joining the run, lots of preparation need to be done. I guess, without a environment which keep me motivated, and as there are lots of temptation around, food and Mum’s cooking, friends influence of eating…

The chance of growing fat and unable to keep up to the schedule of keeping fit is the biggest obstacle.

Well, keeping the joining the marathon as the top secret, only 2 friends of mine, Ting Ann and Shawn who were also running the race, knew that the 3 of us are joining the race, not a single friend of mine knew it till yesterday after the race.

Maybe…

I am someone who dislike to tell people things that I am not confident of doing it well before hand, and promoting it in front of others, and the pressure that you will have if turnout you did not do well, and the expectation of people are not made, thus joining the race was a test of keeping it in top secret.

I was alone. Same as last year, yet with the experience from the race last year, I reached city hall one hour early to deposit my baggage to the baggage collection booth, and proceeded to the race starting point.

With my MP3, I was running alone, I was tough, it was not easy race for me, as this year, I did not make lots of preparation and the time for practising running is lesser…

But I did set target to meet in this race…

E.g.

1st

I can only go to the washroom after hitting East Coast Park when I reach the 21km mark.

2nd

I can only start walking after the 23km mark.

I guess warming up was not done properly, thus when reaching the 34km, I began to experience ache and pains around my ankle and thighs…

But I guess the respiration team was there to cheer the runners was really rewarding as the music, the cheers and the posters act with motivation words such as:

“Tough times don’t last, though tough runners do!”

“One steps ahead is one step nearer to finish line!”

“Impossible is nothing!”

I guess the biggest reward apart from getting the medal of participation, and also able to make the goal set in the race, but also the happiness within that me and my runners shared which is “No pain no gain!”

I guess, the 3 runners, Me, Ting Ann and Shawn will really understand this…

Best Mate in Army^ Ting Ann^

After the Race…

The best treat after the race is to be able to eat something that I like and having sufficient rest…

Yuan, Kah Leng, Keong and Colin arranged to meet up for dinner. kah Leng suggested for dinner at East Coast Park…

I was really a nice place to be at especially after meal, the cold breeze is the best refreshment that withdrew us away from all the stress we had…

The pictures of the food that I had shot at Hong Kong cafe speaks louder than words…

Sandwiches, desserts and my favourite drink, coffee and tea with grass jelly…

Meal dishes that Yuan, Kah Leng, Colin, Keong and I had ordered….

Looks good…Yeah!

After meal, we went to Marina Barrage for the breeze…

As staying at Marina Barrage for around an hour, we decided to go for bowling at safra @ Mount Faber…

The result of the bowling game…

I did improve!
