Happy chinese new year to all bloggers and viewers. I believe many people during the passed one week had been enjoying the 2 public holidays that everyone deserves, especially working adults and though schooling, just like me, myself.
I don’t know about the rest who are viewing but for myself, as we grow older, the chinese new year is simply a normal public resting day or public holidays. The spirits of new year is unlike the past whereby everyone will be really looking forward for Ang Bao, meeting relatives whom are YOUR relatives which you might be even be seeing them for once a year or not as close yet they are related to you as just your parents said so…
Well, this is the sceneario which my family are facing or encountered…
Well, this year…
I did have a great time with few group of my friends. On new year eve, 24 Jan 09, me, Wei Keong, Colin, Jun Yuan, kah Leng, Desmond, Winnie, Leexian and Terence, Sherline and Dennis, total 11 people were all supposed to gather a mini steamboat gathering @ City hall. Yet, as the organiser, planning this mini steamboat was not easy and turned out to be unsuccessful at all.
Sherline and Dennis were unable to join us at the actual day. Desmond and Winnie were having lunar dinner with their family, it was left with the 7 of us. Yet due to some other reasons, like the cost of the steamboat and other bits and pieces, in the end, the mini gathering was cancelled.
I was frustrated deeply within as it was not easy to gather all people, yet this might agree and some might not to different issues did bring this event to be called off.
Well, after some discussion, this mini event was brought back to light, with me, Wei Keong, Colin, Jun Yuan and Kah Leng, the 5 of us meeting @ Bugis for steamboat dinner.
Well, I do hope there will be chance for us, the big group to meet as well, it is not easy to get all of them together unlike school days.
Well, this year, Ang Bao, the quality is not so bad. Economic is bad after all, so able to get a bit of pocket money, I’m pleased and delighted to receive some pocket money…
Well currently…
Many things are uncertain, the ecomonic is uncertain, my future is uncertain, and even at this stage of life, I do hope that there will be miracles or someone to enlighten me of my direction especially this year 2009.
I certainly do not want to be going round and round and eventually know whether the things and the decision I choose is wrong. Yet sometimes, I do hope not knowing much more about what future be like, as I can be free to explore myself.
It is so contradicting…
Yet, I do hope to be like Shawn for sure, to be able to leave Singapore soon to Australia for studies, how I hope I will have the chance just like Shawn to be doing a design course for the next 3 years leaving his familiar home and going about exploring and realising his dream.
Why can’t the person and the chance to be given to me?
I was told in the past, hardwork do pays.
I hope at this point in time, I do not make a wrong decision, as I am very frustrated and disappointed if I have to do through my ups and downs again, over and over again, some promises that I heard this week, are too nice to be true, I know.
Yet at different parts of the world, I hope at the age of 23 and this year, hitting 24 soon, after July 1, there will be a light to show me the way out and to eventually end my tiredness to be doing something new in the field and studies at the same time.
I hope I can be doing things I truely like. Why, it seems that some chances are not given to me…
Well, many things, I do hope I can step forward to see how my decisions that I make now, will be ending with a happy ending or eventually back to square 1, or bring me to a new leap in my life.
Shawn, wish U all the best in your studies, as you are given to such great opportunity to go overseas to complete your degree. Now, as you are given the chance, do it and show it to us in 3 years time, I guess, by the time, we will be graduating from Uni with the right direction that we followed and believed.
