Last minute shopping and spring cleaning.
I guess, this are some of the activities that people will be discussing and doing for the coming few days before the actual Lunar new year arrives on Monday.
As for reunion dinner…
I guess for me, it will be as usual to be having to spend time with my family having lunar dinner at home.
We do not have lunar dinner at restaurants, as my Mum prefers doing the cooking and me, and my two sisters will be helping her with the preparation.
Actually, this year and the past few years, I had friends whom had been saying year after year, years does not get better yet it seems to be worse every year. But for those who are in the F & B business, especially the Bak Gua also known as BBQ pork will always be the top selling CNY item in this period.
This few days…
As I happened to pass by Chinatown area, Lin Zhi Yuan BBQ Pork is as usual long queue with “regulars” queuing up for the traditional BBQ Pork. I was passing by the area as I was called to go for a job interview which the office is located just one street away from Lin Zhi Yuan BBQ Pork shop.

Elderly like uncles, aunties as well as those 40s above were mostly the group that is queuing for the Bak Gua. I guess, those there is recession and the market is uncertain, yet when comes to seasons of giving like christmas and Chinese New Year, Bak Gua will be the top selling item in CNY whereas for christmas, it will be definitely be chocolates and candies.
For myself…
I guess tomorrow I will have to put in a bit more effort to spring clean my room, as for this year, as most of my CNY clothings were purchased in Taipei trip last year, thus I will most probably be getting a pair of shoes or a tee-shirt.
And on Saturday….
I am coordinating a mini lunar new year gathering with some of my poly mates, hopefully, those who I sms will be there.
Jun yuan, kah Leng, Wei Keong, Colin and me, hopefully, Desmond and Winnie, Dennis and Sherline as well as the Terence and Leexian will be able to come.
I am gathering info for steamboat dinner at Town area, if anyone has any idea to offer or recommend, do drop me an sms or leave me a message.:D
